Semerwater is one of only a handful of natural lakes in the Yorkshire Dales and sits in a quiet valley near Bainbridge. It’s a peaceful spot surrounded by rolling hills, making it a great place for paddleboarding, canoeing, or simply enjoying the view. There’s a small car park close to the water with easy access down to the shore. The lake is also popular with anglers and birdwatchers, so it’s worth taking your time to explore beyond the water as well.
For those who enjoy open water without going out to sea Semerwater is perfect for the Windsurfer, Sailor, Canoeist and Wild Swimmer.
Lake Semerwater has been used by a number of organisations for Sailing/Canoeing and Swimming events.
